In my new quest to lose weight so I can get back to the image that I was to begin with, is now a new set of ideas that I’m learning to approach. Last week, I began to monitor my eating habits and some small changes that would help me to feel a bit better about my looks as well as my overall health.
With the complete commitment to get into better health, was my decision to approach the gym. I have to confess, I’ve never been to a gym in my life. The area where I lived was not necessarily health conscious, and now I’m realizing that anything based on building gym habits or even exercise ideas is somewhat foreign to my understanding. But, starting somewhere is better than nothing.
There is nothing like walking into a gym for the first time and seeing the line up of weights on one side and the treadmills on the other. I think I stood at the doorway for a good ten minutes before talking to someone in the gym. Even after I took the basic tour and talked to someone about the programs, I had a swimming feeling in my head with a question of where to begin and how in the world I could use these funny machines to actually do something for myself.
Even though this was my first thought, I’m happy to say that I’m committed to sticking with the program I’ve built for myself. I’m building a short amount of time everyday to go to classes that are available or to take advantage of the machines available. The more I go, the more sore I become and the more enthusiastic I am becoming about building a routine that can give me the look that is more natural to me.
So for someone that has never seen a gym before, I’m quickly learning how to build a routine. Everyday I divide my options between a cardio machine or class and the weights. I’m so grateful that they have the machines with the free weights for that. And even though I still feel like I’m fighting against the gym, just because it is uncomfortable and new, feeling like I’m doing something to add onto my look is helping me to feel younger, more energized and more confident.
My goal as of now is to lose 50 pounds then to see how I feel. More than that, I want to keep to a routine to help with my energy levels and to help me feel healthier and better about myself. I can say with the short spans that I’ve gone into the gym, I feel like I’m taking more control over my being and my health.
I”m hoping that my exercise routine continues to help with some weight loss and gives me a better image with the assistance of the Become Stylish program. I suspect that with a little bit of a thinner frame, I’ll be able to grow in my confidence levels.
