The first thing that I have learned on my adventure of changing my fashion after 20 years is that defining yourself and your body type is the beginning to feeling more confident. We grow up believing that there is a specific image and body type that is the best, which most women don’t fit into.
True body shape is not one defined from the magazines, dolls or fashion programs that would lead you us all into believing we have to have a specific body figure. In fact, women are made of several different figures or a combination of shapes that work together to make us completely unique. I have found that this realization alone has made me feel much better about my image and the way that I feel about myself.
My delight in finding my image is much more than seeming like I can’t fit into any clothes and therefore have to buy other options that simply cover my image up. Actually, I am happy to say that I’m a mix of an hour glass figure and a diamond figure. Most know the hour glass figure. This is the well - proportioned “Marilyn Monroe” style that we all wish for. The small mid-section, as well as the great bust and the hips define this the most and is considered one of the most womanly looks.
The second look that I carry is the diamond figure. This consists of larger hips and some extra “love” in the tummy area. I define myself as having this because the shoulder area that I have is a little thinner then would be considered with the hour glass figure, and I tend to carry weight quite easily.
With these two defined areas of what my body shape is, seems like a new door that is opening towards how I define myself and what my body looks like. By knowing this alone, I am feeling better about who I am, what I carry and how I hold my looks. I am also learning from this program that there are actually clothes that can fit my proportions in the correct way, and so I don’t feel like I just can’t fit into anything. The clothes that I now am on the search for are those that can bring out the best parts of me, while allowing me to feel like I am comfortable in what I am wearing.
This should definitely be a good and new start that can help me to begin to feel more confident about my looks while providing a completely different look on life.
If you want to learn about your body style and shape, then I strongly recommend the Become Stylish program. The shapes and sizes of women from different walks of life is a true eye opener to the fashion that surrounds us and the way we approach the way we look.
